International Academy of Perinatal Medicine

Although the Perinatal Medicine is as old as Humanity, this designation was not used until the second half of the XXth century, in particular since 1960. During thousands of years, healers, shamans, doctors-priests, surgeons-barbers, physicians and midwives strove to understand the reproductive physiology, cure sterility and give re lief to the women that were in the childbirth process. Along the history, some of these men and women managed to assure that their names and procedures would not be forgotten.
